The town flourished during the Heian Era and at that time had the second largest population after the town of Hiraizumi. And the current population is approximately 7 000. This small town is also known as a World Heritage town due to the fact that it has two World Heritage Sites.
Production of the town, a town with a rich history and a town that can be enjoyed on foot, began on 21 December 2023.
