Chuo and Nekohama Wards are both part of the administrative districts located in Maisana City. Maisana is known as a leading port city and commercial and industrial city, with skyscrapers. The Chuo Ward is the political centre of the city and is home to the Marunouchi area, where state institutions are concentrated, and the Asahi-cho area, the longest-established downtown area in Maisana City. The Nekohama Ward, one of the city's economic centres, includes the Nekohama Station Area, the gateway to the conventional railway line, and the Bay City 21 Area, a national new city centre.
